Known for her Abstract Expressionist composition, Esther Liu studied art at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada and at NYU in New York City. She was a member of the EPOXY Art Group, a collective group of artists hailing from Hong Kong and China active in New York in the 1980s and 1990s. A solo exhibition featuring her work was held by the Pao Gallery at the Hong Kong Arts Centre. In 2018, she was included in Art Across Archives, an exhibition that featured work by the EPOXY Art Group.

- stains and toning throughout paper; edge wear with bent corners and tears along sides, including tear at upper left measuring approximately 8.5" long; media is unfixed and easily smudged; ripple and curl to paper from rolled storage.
