‘Space Firsts’ Commemorative Rounds, Mid to Late 20th Century. This lot contains four commemorative rounds and one mini coin celebrating achievements in space exploration. There is a round for Explorer I and the first US satellite, a pair of rounds for the first manned orbital space flight by Yuri Gagarin, and a commemorative round for the first Apollo manned space flight, Apollo VII. Also included is a Franklin Mint limited-edition mini coin struck from silver that was carried by Apollo XIV as it orbited the moon. Rounds are not circulated and 33mm and 38mm in diameter except for the mini coin which is 12mm. The mini coin weight 3.4 grams in its cardboard housing.
