Jean Pascault was born in Potiers, France in the mid 19th century. Pascault gained recognition for the porcelain painting work he did for the Sevres porcelain manufacturer, in particular his ornate detailing and rococo style. Pascault was however an artist outside of Sevres Porcelain and exhibited portraits on porcelain at multiple Paris salons during the late 1870 and early 1880’s.
Condition
- wear to the finish on the frame; dust accumulation to the porcelain composition; plaque has been examined out of frame; small chip to the porcelain to the upper left corner to the verso.
