Stango is best known for his Pop Art style paintings. He earned his BA in Painting and Graphic Design from Temple University. His self-coined “American Muscle Car” style utilizes silkscreen printing and oil painting in conjunction with juxtaposed pop culture imagery and thick brushstrokes. His inspirations and subject matter include popular celebrity icons, advertising, mid-century modernism, and more. Stango currently works in his warehouse studio outside of Philadelphia. A solo exhibition of his works will be held at the Artist’s Proof Gallery in Washington D.C. from March 8 to April 16, 2017.
