An English School portrait painting depicting a seated lady. The plaque to frame attributes the artist to John Hoppner, RA and the sitter as Lady Margaret Walpole. However, this is not supported based on documentary research.

- waving to canvas; scattered inpainting and areas of craquelure; small spot of paint loss to upper right; abrasions to canvas at frame edges; chipping, cracking and finish loss to frame; painting not examined out of frame.
