Portrait Oil Painting, Possibly Marguerite de Lorraine, 18th Century

Item Details

Artist unknown (Flemish School style)
Untitled (half-length portrait a lady), 18th century
Oil painting on canvas
Unsigned

An half-length portrait oil painting of a lady in the Flemish School style. The sitter may possibly features Marguerite de Lorraine, Madame, duchesse d’Orléans (1615 – 1672). The frame plaque attributes the work to Frederico Zuccaro (Italy, 1543 – 1609). However, the style bears more resemblance to a follower of Sir Anthony van Dyck (Flemish, 1599 – 1641). Further, van Dyck also painted the duchesse d’Orléans during the 1630s.
