Oil painting on canvas

Hailing from Napels, Italy, contemporary artist Ferdonado Ambrosino began painting as a teenager and received an award for a piece submitted to the ‘First Edition of the National Exhibition for Young Italian Artists’ in 1959 at age 21. Though he continued to paint, Ambrosino was hesitant to exhibit further and placed much thought into his next and first solo exhibition which took place almost ten years later at the in the Maschio Angioino, a medieval castle in Naples. Receiving praise for his work the artist has gone on to exhibit all over the world including France, Venezuela, USA, Spain, Belgium, Greece, Turkey, Romania and Russia. Notable are his exhibitions at the Italian Institute of Culture in San Francisco, in 1998 and the Musée du Bastion Saint André in Antibes on the Cote d’Azur in 1992. Embracing both the abstract and the figurative, Ambrosino’s imaginative works can be found in private collections globally.
