Medal of Honor Challenge Coins of George C. Lang. One challenge coin is for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and features an eagle and likeness of the medal to the obverse and George c. Lang’s name and date of award to the reverse. The other challenge coin has the likeness of the Medal of Honor and United States Army to the obverse and George C. Lang’s Unit insignia and date of award to the reverse. Lang served in Company A 4th Battalion of the 47th Infantry in the 9th Division’s Mobile Riverine Force. Nicknamed, ‘The Old Reliables,’ Lang was awarded the Medal of Honor for single handedly neutralizing three fortified bunkers in Vietnam and discovering a cache of weapons before being wounded.
