Henry Gasser was raised in New Jersey and began his art studies at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art and the Grand Central School of Art. He further his art education at the Art Students League of New York, and studied under Robert Bracman and John R. Grabach. Involved in multiple art communities, he served as the Vice President of the National Academy of Design and the American Watercolor Society. His work has been collected by numerous institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Smithsonian American Art Museum; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, among many others.
