Chinese inscription reads (right to left) :造感得药; Make sense and get medicine. 裕恆德; Dé héng yù. 中八国民; The eighth year of the Republic of China. Thai inscription reads: เด็ก เฮง หยู; Tek Heng Yu.
‘Tek Heng Yu’ is a 128-year-old Chinese medicine pharmacy located in Thailand. Famous for providing King Rama VI and the Thai military with medicinal aid, the family-owned company is now known as Osotspa Co. Ltd, a royal honorary surname short for ‘provider of medicine’ in Thai. In 2019, a museum was opened dedicated to the old ‘Tek Heng Yu’ pharmacy to commemorate the history and culture of traditional medicine.
