Eliot Candee Clark was one of the few Impressionist artist of the Southern American states. He was associated with renowned artist James Whistler and John Twachtman, who was a family friend. The artist authored a book about Impressionism featuring artists Twachtman, Theodore Robinson, Childe Hassam, Julian Weir, and Robert Vonnoh. Clark taught at the National Arts Club and the Art Students League in New York. His work has been exhibited at numerous institutions including the Milwaukee Art Institute, the National Academy of Design, the Fort Worth Museum of Art, among many others.
