Medallion to the underside reads “Arts and Commerce Promoted”

A contemporary marble finished bust of the Veiled Vestal or The Bride, marked Sculptured Arts Studio. The bust has a pewter medallion inset into the socle base which reads Arts And Commerce Promoted. The original of this copy was sculpted by Raffaelle Monti and purchased by the Duke of Devonshire for the Chatsworth Collection. The Duke gave Copeland permission to copy the bust in 1875 who made parian ware versions for the public.

Condition

- accretions, marks, and discoloration throughout particularly to crevices; minor surface abrasions.
