Secretariat's Genuine Worn Horseshoe in Presentation Case, 1970s

An original horseshoe worn by legendary thoroughbred, 1973 Triple Crown Winner, and perhaps the greatest racing horse of all-time, Secretariat. This historic and significant horse racing collectible was consigned by one of Cincinnati’s most beloved celebrities. The horseshoe is affixed to a scarlet velour material and housed in a silver-painted shadow box case. There is a silver plaque nameplate that reads Worn By Secretariat Triple Crown Winner 1973 WLEX-TV Fall Premiere Party 1977.
In 1973, ridden by Hall of Fame Jockey, Ron Turcotte; Secretariat became the first Triple Crown winner in 25 years. His record-breaking victory in the Belmont Stakes, which he won by 31 lengths, is widely regarded as one of the greatest races in history. Nicknamed Big Red, ESPN voted Secretariat as one of the greatest athletes of all-time.
