Born in Sweden, Kaeselau began his formal artistic training at the Kensington School of Art in London, before advancing to Academy Julian in Paris. From 1911 to 1915, he attended the Art Institute of Chicago. He is best remembered as a painter, teacher, and lithographer. Kaeselau’s works are represented in the collections of the Whitney Museum in New York; the Phillips Memorial Gallery, Washington, D.C.; National Museum of American Art-Smithsonian; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Community Fine Arts Center, Wyoming; The Newark Museum; Provincetown Art Association and Museum.
