Not much is known about Henry Farrer’s childhood but it is believed that he was self-taught. Once Farrer became of age, he travelled to the United States and opened his own studio in New York. His focus became watercolor landscapes, though he created several still life renderings. Henry Farrer was a founding member of the American Society of Painters in Water Colors and the the New York Etching Club.
