In addition to studying at Stephens College and the Art Academy of Cincinnati under Arthur Helwig (1899 – 1976), Beverly Erschell earned her BFA and MFA from University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, & Planning. She is especially known for her use of bright colors and loose forms, recalling the work of Post-Impressionists and Fauvists such as Henri Matisse. Her work has been exhibited and collected by various venues regionally and nationally, including Cincinnati’s Contemporary Arts Center, the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Dayton Institute of Art, and the Walter Wickiser Gallery in New York, among others.
