Giorgio Sommer was born in Frankfurt am Main. He became recognized for his images of archaeological ruins, landscapes, objects and portraits. Sommer eventually opened his first photography studio in Switzerland, after attending business school, where he created images of the mountains for the Swiss government. Sommer became involved in every aspect of his studio by publishing his own images, printing his own albums and postcards, and photographing custom images for book illustrations. His studio ultimately moved to Naples where he continued to earn honors for his work. Sommer’s pieces are collected in various public and private collections.

- discoloration to the image; photograph dry-mounted to paper backing; slight bowing to mat and backing; no glazing to frame; marks and scratches to mat and frame.
