Kiro Urdin was born in 1945 in North Macedonia of the former Yugoslavia. He initially studied law at the University of Belgrade, but later moved to Paris to be a painter, where he studied at The Academy of Arts Plastiques, and later at the Paris Film School. In the 1990s he began what he refers to as the Planetarism movement, a philosophy that works to bridge different cultures and art forms into one whole, and created his master work Planetarium, a monumental oil painting that he created over two years in over thirty locations around the world.
