This six-volume set of the limited Memorial Edition of Life and Letters of Washington Irving was rebound in full leather from the originally published three-volume set, which is numbered 271 of 300. Included are various handwritten and printed correspondences from historical figures, including David Wilkie, Washington Irving, James Madison, Thomas Campbell, John Murray, Thomas Moore, George Bancroft, Martin Van Buren, Daniel Webster, Queen Victoria, Count Rumford (Benjamin Thompson), and George W. Custis, among others. An armorial bookplate is affixed to each marbled front pastedown. This set formerly belonged to Rosita de Texada, wife of Julius W. Noyes, a member of the New York Stock Exchange; the two were wed 6 May 1929.
