Duesbury Derby English "Imari" Regency Porcelain Platter, 1806-25
Item Details
A Derby porcelain platter. This Regency period example from between 1806-25 is decorated in an English imari pattern. The factory made some of the most highly decorated pieces during Duesburys tenure a Derby, among them many interpretations of the Japanese imari the was becoming popular in England. The piece has underglaze blue decoration with polychrome enamels and burnished gilding. There is a painted crown mark on the underside of the platter.
