A Falling Ball Ferris Wheel Lion Top 8-Day clock with temp and humidity gauge. An ornate clock topped with a gold-tone lion finial that sits on a mahogany wood and veneer case framed with beveled glass side panels and a door to the front and verso. The case is adorned with gold-tone panels and foliate trim with a top panel that opens to load the ball bearings. The glass panels display a gold-tone clock highlighted with glass crystals that sits above a barometer with a thermometer to the side. This Ferris Wheel ball-bearing driven clock has its own unique style as it receives its working power from large steel ball bearings, which drop from the top tray into the top of a circular “Ferris Wheel” causing the wheel to rotate slowly while a hairspring platform escapement controls the rotation. When a ball clears the bottom of the Ferris wheel it drops through a hole into a storage drawer that is decorated with a lace style brass overlay.
