- restoration work to canvas, including overcleaning resulting in loss of pigmentation, scattered areas of overpainting, and revarnishing; major accretion across painting surface; abrasions and paint loss along painting perimeter; wear and damage to frame, including cracked gesso moulding, loss to gesso, repainted finish, chips, abrasions, and several repaired areas; liner coming loose from frame; painting not secured within frame; major accretion and residue to verso.
