Anita Dawson is a native of Columbus, Ohio and spent much of her youth in Florida. She obtained a BFA at the University of Florida in 1972 focusing on ceramics and printmaking, then went on to receive an MFA from the University of South Florida. Her passion for education drew her back to Columbus to teach at the Columbus College of Art & Design, where she taught drawing and painting for thirty-seven years. Now retired, she creates rich, dream-like still life paintings full time. She draws inspiration from her lush garden, dreams, and Italy.
