Acrylic painting on canvas
Signed to the lower right
Polish-American artist Zofia Wilamowska began making art at a very young age but did not receive formal training until later in life. She began her art education when she came to the United States taking classes at the Upper Arlington Senior Center, Columbus College of Art and Design, and the Columbus Cultural Arts Center. Her work is on permanent display at her son’s North Market restaurant, Hubert’s Polish Kitchen. Wilamowska displays a unique ability to portray the struggles of immigrants through the lens of her own experiences as a child in the aftermath of World War II.
