Additional Information | Written by Matthew Fontaine Maury, known as the pioneer of modern oceanography, this volume features nine fold-outs to the rear of the book. A bookplate of Frederic W. Lincoln Jr., a two term mayor of Boston in the mid to late 1860s, is affixed to the front endpaper. His occupation was a mathematical instrument maker and nautical stationer. |
Condition
- cut pages after the fold-outs to the back of the text; wear to the cover with bumped corners, rubbed edges, sunning, dings, fraying and soiling; writing to the endpapers with graphite markings throughout the text; foxing; chipping to the fold-outs; darkening to pages and text edges.
