Wilbur LeRoy Newark was a commercial artist from Columbus, Ohio. He trained with Al Hibbard, Gordon Grant, and Charles Rosen and studied at the Columbus Academy of Art, Ohio State University, and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh before working as an artist for Zaner-Bloser Engrossing Company. He was a veteran of both World War I and II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masonic Lodge.
