Additional Information Félix Alexandre (b. 1823) was a widely recognized évantailliste (fan maker) in the second half of the 19th century. The Alexandre silk-covered fan case is monogrammed to the lid “C. C.”. The folding fan has not been attributed to Félix Alexandre. The fan features pierced Mother of Pearl sticks and double-sided images with gold leaf trim.

- folding fan: moderate to significant wear including scratches, nicks and abrasions; moderate paper tears; discoloration and soiling; tarnishing to metal elements. 
- Maison Alexandre fan case: shattering to silk covering with foxing and soiling; discoloration, soiling and staining to interior.
