Vintage Strand Pirate Toy Chest

A vintage toy chest with pirate motif by Strand Quality Chests circa 1960’s. Strand is the originator of the the “pirate chest” as a classic model for children’s toy chests. This chest features the large brass finish lugs holding the various pieces of knotty pine together, original rope handles, and black stenciling of pirates and their ships. Paper label inside reads “Strand Quality Chests made by the Hazel Novelty Cabinet Company, St. Louis Missouri”.

Condition

Wear, scratches and nicks throughout, wood split to bottom of interior, left rope handle has broken off from base to one end.
