David Patchen Multicolored "Foglio" Handblown Art Glass Vase

Item Details

Born in New York, David Patchen is a handblown glass artist known for his pieces rendered in intense colors and intricate details. Primarily self-taught since 2001, Patchen works out of Public Glass in San Francisco. Influenced by textiles and patterns in nature, he explores the use of transparency and opacity through the fusing of multi-layered cane and murrini. The compositions are then wrapped around a bubble of liquid glass before he begins the blowing process. Patchen’s work is featured in numerous private and public collections.
