Sidney Chafetz, printmaker and Emeritus art professor at Ohio State University is best known for his satirical woodblocks and linoleum prints depicting relevant historical events and political commentary. He received his formal artistic training at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1947. Subsequently, he moved to Paris where he refined his technique while continuing his education at the Academie Julian. Later on, he attended to the L’Ecole American Beaux-Arts and worked with the historically renowned artist Fernand Leger. His work can be found in various private and public collections including the Columbus Museum of Art.
