Ancient Byzantine gold Semissis of Justinian I, ca. 530 A.D. Constantinople Mint. Obverse: DN IVSTINIANVS PP AVG, pearl diademed, draped, cuirassed bust right / VICTORIA AVG GG, Victory seated right, inscribing numerals on shield set on knee; star to left, chi-rho to right. Mintmark CONOB in exergue. Metal Content: gold. Diameter: 21 mm. Weight: 2.2 grams. Coin is lightly circulated and appears to be slightly double-struck on the reverse. Reference Sear 143.
