Barrie C. McDowell was a self-employed artist and a World War II veteran. He was part of the 1964 Annual Exhibition of Contemporary American Sculpture at the Whitney Art Museum and had a solo exhibition at the Pace Gallery in New York in 1963.

- uneven green patina throughout with drip marks and abrasions; accretions to interior of work; nicks and abrasions to sculpture; sculpture rotates on base; scratches and wear to the wood base; item removed from base for examination.
