Leal Mack is best known for his figural Southwestern illustrations depicted with energetic brushstrokes, vibrant pigments and overall sense of motion. He acquired his formal artistic training from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, in Philadelphia. He went on to pursue his artistic career and moved to Taos, New Mexico, where he developed his signature style and subject matter for which he is mostly recognized today. Mack’s illustrations appeared in renowned publications including the Harper’s, Saturday Evening Post and Country Gentlemen among many others.
