Josna Michil Van Dan Berg was born in the Netherlands in 1905. He first studied at the Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in Rotterdam, and then went on to study under Joop Kropff at the Academie in The Hague, and finally at the Academie Libre in Paris, He eventually settled in The Hague where he maintained a studio and worked as a stylist. His work resides in the permanent collections of the Haags Gemeentemuseum, Het Nederlands Postmuseum and in the Rijkscollectie.
