Stefano Cusumano was born in Tampa, Florida and is best known for his figural modernist oil paintings. Fundamentally, a self-taught artist, he became active in the midst of the Abstract expressionist movement. He removed himself from this movement and stayed with compositions based on a representational subject matter. Cusamano’s work has been exhibited in various private and public institutions including The National Gallery, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Pensacola Art Museum and The Tweed Museum of Art.

- significant darkening to varnish; some inpainting repair to craquelure throughout, with additional craquelure notable and some cleavage to deeper cracks; accretion to surface; chips to frame and heavy wear to finish; discoloration and foxing to canvas verso.
