Orna Amrani is a Judaic artist known for her multi-media, three-dimensional work often featuring a combination of Jewish motifs and ancient scripts, as seen in this work. Amrani’s work is typicaly composed of clay, metal powders and gold leaf, overlaid with handmade parchment, then baked at a high temperature.
Born in Haifa, Israel, Amrani studied art at the University of Haifa before serving in the Israeli Air Force. Her interest in the scrolls of the Dead Sea and the ancient scrolls of Sephardic and Ashkenzi Jews has continued to deeply influence her work.
