Ruth Starkey Duncan (Mrs. Robert Duncan) was an American artist in oil and watercolor based out of San Antonio, Texas. She received her AA from Stephens College and her BFA from the University of Oklahoma. She was a member of the American Artists Professional League, River Art Group, and the Society of Western artists, and received the Order of Delta Gamma Rose Award for success in her chosen field. In addition to participating in exhibitions throughout Texas and the American West, her work was shown at the Lever House Galleries in New York and the Smithsonian National Gallery in Washington, D.C.

- slight yellowing to painting varnish; areas of surface wear to paint and abrasions causing minor paint loss along frame sight edges; stains to frame fabric liner; scratches and edge wear to frame.
