Original Jacques Danglas Oil on Board

An original oil on board painting by well listed painter Jacques Danglas (1925-?). The painting is signed to the lower righthand corner with the artist’s last name. In this fine still life the artist has depicted a fairly typical scene in a modernist style that breathes verve into an image of fruits in a bowl alongside a bottle that might otherwise be considered terribly banal. Danglas paints quite similarly to Bernard Buffet, however with a refined boldness that elevates his aesthetic into a different foray. This immaculate painting is presented in an absolutely incredible mid century modern frame with raised toothed pattern painted with gilt, backed by a green border.
Condition
The painting is in great shape, however the canvas bevel bordering that surrounds the edge of the painting needs either cleaning or replacement as it has become very dirty. The gilded border has also been subject to a good deal of scratching and wear.
