Born in Italy, Luigi Corbellini moved to Paris in 1923. There he was influenced by the French modernists and became known for his portraits, although he also painted cityscapes and landscapes as well as some sculpture. He exhibited in several Parisian galleries notably the Salon des Indépendants, Salon d’Automne, and the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux Arts. After gaining some success in Paris, Corbellini began to travel and exhibited his work around the world including in New York, Japan, Venezuela, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles. His work can be found in many private and public collections including the Modern Art Museum of Paris, Musée de Grenoble, Galleria d’Arte Moderna Ricci Oddi, and the Petit Palais in Geneva.

- minor accretions and slight surface discoloration; finish loss, scratches, and nicks to the frame.
