Fashion illustrator and art educator, Margaret Voelker-Ferrier, was born in 1948 in Evansville, Indiana. Drawn to the allure of the fashion industry from a young age, Voelker-Ferrier attended the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Art, Architecture, and Planning (DAAP) before traveling to Paris to pursue her career. By the age of 28, Voelker-Ferrier became well-known across Europe for her illustrations, working for notable designers and creating influential pieces. She returned to Ohio to finish her education and ultimately became a professor her alma mater, motivating her students to pursue their own dreams in the fashion industry. Aside from her illustrations, Voelker-Ferrier created watercolor landscapes, particularly of Martha’s Vineyard, using her signature painting technique of wet on wet with a glaze. Her work has been exhibited in galleries throughout Cincinnati.

- heavy toning to tracing papers; horizontal and vertical creasing through tracing papers due to previous storage; creasing to corners of paper; lower half of one piece separated; inscriptions present throughout margins of papers; papers are fragile.
