Greene Settle was a Lexington, Kentucky businessman who collected the work of well-known artist Henry Faulkner (Kentucky, 1924-1981), becoming his close friend and pupil. Settle owned over 300 works by Faulkner at the time of his death in 1981, which would eventually be purchased as a collection by the First Southern National Bank of Stanford.
