Edgar Forkner was a watercolorist known for his floral still lifes and harbor scenes. He was born in Richmond, Indiana in 1865 and went on to study at the Art Student League in New York. He returned to Indiana and became a member of the Richmond Group, exhibiting for many years at the Hoosier Salon Exhibition. Forkner also spent time in Chicago and eventually settled in Seattle, where he became a member of the Seattle Art Colony. His works are represented in many permanent collections including The Chicago Art Institute, Richmond Art Museum, and the Seattle Art Museum.
