Depicting the original cover of Lorenza, an opera by Edoardo Mascheroni, published by Ricordi, in Milan and Leipzig. Mascheroni was an Italian composer and conductor, better known for conducting the world premiere of Giuseppe Verdi’s Falstaff. He is known to have composed two operas of his own, to libretti of Luigi Illica. This was one of them. The original artwork created for the cover is owned by Casa Ricordi, in Milan.
