English landscape artist Samuel Henry Baker was a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) and the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers (RE). Known for his watercolor paintings of rural landscapes, he attended the Birmingham School of Design and studied under landscape artist Joseph Paul Pettit, a pupil of Joseph Vincent Barber. From 1848 to 1909, Baker exhibited over five hundred paintings at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.
