Born in Minnesota, Bjorklund was known for his Western genre scenes. Bjorklund earned his first education in art as an apprentice to a mural painter and drawing lessons from his father. In 1927, he received a scholarship to study art at the Pratt Institute. During this time, he illustrated Western genre pulp publications. Throughout his career, his illustrations were published in over 300 books, including some that Bjorklund authored. He is listed in the 1975 book Fifty Great Western Illustrators by Jeff Dykes.

- heavy wear to edges of boards; heavy toning to boards; surface wear present to drawings; graphite inscriptions present to margins of drawings; mat burn present to boards; tape present to images of two pieces; heavy wear to corners of boards.
