Born in Mexico City in 1950, Ricardo Ponzanelli is a renowned sculptor descended from a long line of Italian sculptors which stretches back to Valerio Ponzanelli in the 14th century. Ricardo learned his trade under the guidance of his father, Octavio Ponzanelli, who was regularly commissioned for projects by the Mexican government. Ricardo has distinguished himself an expert in the ‘lost-wax’ or ‘investment’ method of bronze casting. His artwork can be found today in galleries and public installations in Dallas and all over Mexico.
