Davis Alexander Grubb was an American novelist, best known for his 1953 psychological thriller novel The Night of the Hunter, which was made in to a movie of the same title in 1955, directed by Charles Laughton (California/England, 1899 – 1962) and starring Lillian Gish (New York/Ohio, 1993 – 1993).
