Keith Llewellyn De Carlo was a Panamanian-born artist known for painting and illustration. He became an American citizen after fighting in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II, and moved to New York City where he studied at the Art Student’s League. He later moved to the Europe where he continued his studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts and the Academy de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris, and later at the Escuela de Bellas Artes in Barcelona. His art style was strongly influenced by ancient cave paintings. DeCarlo was commissioned to paint murals across Europe, and also worked as a commercial artist and book illustrator.
