Sometimes called the “Father of Kinetic Art,” Yaacov Agam was born in 1928 in what was then Rishon le Zion, Palestine (now Israel). Agam studied art at the New Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts and is best known as the inventor of the agamograph. Agam’s pieces can be found in private collections around the world and can be viewed at both the Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of Modern Art. In 2017, The Yaacov Agam Museum of Art was opened in Rishon LeZion, Israel.
