Influenced by German Expressionism and graffiti elements, Keil is known for his simplified abstractions of traditional art subjects. He studied under Otto Nagel at a young age and developed relationships with other renowned artists such as Joan Miró. As Keil abandoned realism and developed his signature style, he used more vibrant colors rapidly applied with large gestural brushstrokes resembling the abstract style of Picasso.

- toning to paper; discoloration to edges and corners of sheet; paper debris to the lower left corner under glass; paper unevenly trimmed across upper edge; holes to the lower joints of the frame; marks, scratches, and dents to the frame particularly to the corners.
